Hi everyone,

After 8 days in Cancun, I achieved my first goal of the trip! Being my first time in Cancun, and according to Marcela´s suggestion, we divided the trip into two parts, one in the most rustic part of the area (Tulum) and the other part in Puerto Morelos resort area but not the busiest one, and additionally, we set the plan to don’t spend all the time in the two hotels that we define for our stay, we were looking for the opportunity to set a balanced travel between visits to the region and beach sites.

Taking into account that we scheduled to visit to Bacalar lagoon and Chichen Itza, we decided to dismiss these options because it will take us about 3 hours by car to get there. Finally, leaving only by visiting Isla Mujeres , Kantun-Chi Cenotes and Xcaret park.

Talking about the 3 plans, I was atonished in the visit to the Cenotes, not only because my expectations were not high but because of the combination of elements in this experience. Basically, You'll visit subterranean caves that are flooded and in theory you would not be able to see beyond the torch shines. But ¨Kantu-chi Cenotes¨ are artificially lighted and you can see an amazing variety of colours and the peace that is only interrupted by our voices, the sound of water that seeps into every part of the rock in constant motion. All of these allowed us to take great photos of a 45 min unforgettable experience!

In Tulum we were in the oldest boutique hotel in the beach: Ana & Jose. It is a rustic hotel that was built on the sand. The restaurant is on the sand as well, and some of the roads are made by sand, but is impossible to find a place to wash your feet before your room, which literally means that you're full of sand until you take a shower. On the other hand, the hotel hasn´t tv service, so it allows the couple to have a place to talk.

About my first goal that was to walk as God brought us the world, it was perfectly achieved in the second hotel: Desire! Although they call themselves a “resort”, it could be pretentious due to the hotel size (is a small one). Rooms and construction in general are very old and small for the price, the staff at this hotel is by far the most customer-oriented of all the hotels I have visited in Latin America, but all that does not matter because here the experience goes beyond facilities, care staff (although at this resort is amazing), food quality or size of the beach! It is the possibility of live the swinger experience .....while you overcome shame and embarrassment of being watched and judged by everyone for being naked, I think I came to a community where that step was taken a long time ago, where nudity is inherent, and the initial part of what they want is something that goes beyond my understanding.
